July 2026 - Manchester (UK)Is Video Business Mastery Program (VBM) actually Legit?
Who Am I
I run Solsonafilms, an Award-Winning video production company based in Manchester (UK). I paid for VBM myself 18 months ago, and entered it as a student. I used VBM to rebuild how I price, position and sell my work, and today I want to share exactly what happened. Good and bad. So it hopefully help you to make the right decision for your business.
Is VBM actually legit?
The Short Answer
Yes. But it only works if you actually run the process.
VBM isn't a shortcut and it isn't a magic script. It's a way of thinking about who you sell your video to, how you price it, and how you run a sales conversation without sounding like a salesperson. The frameworks is simple to understand but genuinely uncomfortable to apply the first few times. That discomfort is where the value is.
What Woked, What Didn’t
How I actually Use It
What you should really know before deciding
I keep coming back to the same thing when I think about who VBM actually suits. It's for people who already have something to sell and want to sell it for more, not people hoping it'll create a service or skill out of thin air. It's for people willing to lean in a genuinely awkward sales conversation (or what I thought was awkward!) rather than dodge it.
If you're the type who wants leads handed to you without ever following up or picking up the phone, none of this will land the way it's meant to. It rewards people who want one repeatable process they can lean on again and again but work on it - not another one-off trick. It especially rewards the version of me a while back who had no real lead generation system beyond word of mouth, networking and hope.
Where it falls down is if you are unwilling to actually change how you think, not just tweak a few words in their outreach, but rethink your business entirely, your positioning, your mindset, your messaging, sometimes even your whole niche.
If what you're picturing is a finished script you memorise once and repeat forever, word for word, you'll be disappointed here, because the entire point is learning to adapt it in the moment, and become so skilled that you can navigate every single situation and close more deals.
The Questions I’d Want Answered
-
It can be, if you treat it like content to consume on Netflix. It only does something for your business once you run an actual sales conversation using the framework. The course doesn't do that part for you.
-
Yes 100%. The structure travels but the language doesn't automatically. I had to adapt messaging, examples and case studies to fit manufacturing and engineering specifically, and you'll need to do the same for yours.
-
Absolutely not. The pricing and meeting frameworks are easiest to learn on a live conversation with new prospect. In fact, I found it harder to apply to existing customers and had to let some go (it’s a good thing!).
-
No, but it's easy to get wrong in the other direction too. It ties your price to the value a client actually gains, so it can be higher or lower than a flat rate depending on the deal. Get the value figure wrong and you'll price wrong, so the frameworks is fundamental to uncover the real problem you are fixing, the value to your client it unlock and your pricing.
Where I landed, after 18 months
100% legit and genuinely transformative - with the condition that you'll actually do the uncomfortable part: real conversations, real pricing changes, real adjustments to your own business, mindset change.
If that's not something you're willing to do, no framework will fix that for you.
Here is why I have created this page
Writing this review is my way of saying thanks to a program that's genuinely changed how Solsonafilms sells its work. I created it because I wished it existed when I started. Also, Jackson and the team saw the page and have suggested to offer you a small discount if you decide to sign up through it - I get a small kick back too. It is a bonus for me and a discount for you. Win-win.
Regardless, I talk about VBM to other business owners and to my own network for free and would keep doing that. I hope this page has been useful for you to understand if VBM is right for you.
I wish you all the success in the mastery of your video business. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out:
